Campus Berlin Süd

On Friday the 24th of May, Phorms Berlin Süd Gymnasium held their annual Sportsfest. The sun graced the grounds of the Ernst-Reuter-Sportfeld which must have been a sign of the fierce competition that was going to be on display!
Students from year seven to ten took part in four disciplines throughout the day including: a sprint, shot putt, long jump and an endurance run. There were a few stand out performances across the day in all four disciplines which are mentioned below.
Year 10’s Max Wanet was dominant as he sailed to a win in both the 100m sprint and the 1000m run while jumping well over five metres in the long jump with 5.40m. He won the overall competition with 1966points, followed in second place by Benjamin Brumm who scored an excellent 1801 and Max Stange finished in third place with 1753 points.

In the boy’s year 8 competition 40 points separated the first three places with Max Heidolf winning with 1538 points to second place Sebastian Reiner’s 1522 and Isaac Amerkhanian’s 1497 points in third place.
Year 7’s Shirin Schiller stormed to a blistering win in the girls 800m running a fantastic time of 2.27mins. While Jonathan Göhre lead the year 7 boy’s competition after some strong performances in the Long jump and shot putt to win the title with 1662 points. Maxim Klanten finished second on the day with 1417 points, while Elio Klapper finished third with 1330 points.
A big thank you goes to the staff who helped organise and run the events during the day. Another thank-you goes to the Year 11 students who came across to support our younger students by aiding the measuring and recording scores of the events.
Lastly, well done to all participants from year 7 to 10! Students were given their certificates from their class teachers on Wednesday 29th of May. In total, 52 honorary certificates were handed out to students which means that 75% of our gymnasium students were above the national standard for the overall competition at their age group.
