Since 2019, our Erzieherakademie in Heilbronn (EAH), in collaboration with the Dieter Schwarz Foundation and aim, has been offering an innovative training programme for aspiring educators and socio-educational assistants. As a state-recognised alternative school, the academy combines hands-on learning with modern pedagogy, providing a dynamic and future-focused education. Located at the heart of Heilbronn’s innovative educational campus, it offers an inspiring environment for those looking to shape the future of education.
Education is not one-size-fits-all. Our training programme is designed for school leavers from all educational backgrounds—whether from lower and intermediate secondary schools, grammar schools, or two-year vocational schools. We also welcome professionals seeking a career change, providing them with the skills and knowledge to embark on a new path in education.
Lessons are led by experienced educators with backgrounds in early childhood and social education. They bring real-world expertise, fresh ideas, and a wealth of practical experience to inspire and prepare the next generation of educators.

MorePiA
The three-year training programme to become a state-recognised educator combines theory and practice in alternating blocks of two to three months. During these periods, trainees either attend school or complete their practical training in a kindergarten. Unlike traditional training, there is no additional year of professional recognition, allowing graduates to enter the workforce immediately. Another key benefit: additional qualifications are automatically included in the programme.
MoreAdditional qualifications
As part of the practice-integrated training (PiA), all students in their second year receive one of three additional qualifications offered in collaboration with Phorms Education: Phorms European Educator, aim Language Educator, or Experimenta STEM Educator.
