Established & certified by the International Baccalaureate (IB)

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma is one of the most widely recognised university entrance qualifications worldwide, including in Germany. We are proud to have two renowned IB World Schools within the Phorms Education network: Heidelberg International School (H.I.S.) and Strothoff International School (S.I.S.). Both schools provide German and international students with a high-quality education that prepares them for the IB Diploma and beyond.

Lifelong learners who thrive and make a difference.

The IB’s mission is to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, confident, and caring young people. The programmes empower school-aged students to take ownership of their own learning and help them develop future-ready skills to make a difference and thrive in a world that changes fast.

The IB educational concept

Primary Years Programme (PYP)

A foundation for lifelong learning

The PYP (ages 4–12) lays the groundwork for a lifelong love of learning. It encourages children to take an active role in shaping their own education, fostering a sense of responsibility, curiosity, and engagement from an early age.

This forward-thinking educational approach prepares young learners to navigate the challenges and opportunities of an ever-changing world, equipping them with the skills and mindset needed to adapt, explore, and thrive.

Middle Years Program (MYP)

Connecting learning to the real world

The MYP (ages 11–16) builds upon a solid academic foundation, helping students develop critical thinking skills, independence, and global awareness. This five-year programme empowers them to take ownership of their learning and make meaningful connections between classroom lessons and real-world applications.

Diploma Program (DP)

Preparing for a global future

The DP (ages 16–19) nurtures the natural curiosity of young adults, guiding them through their final school years towards graduation. It allows students to explore both broad and in-depth knowledge in their chosen subjects while supporting their physical, intellectual, emotional, and ethical growth.

The goal of the DP is to provide graduates with the best possible preparation for their future careers, equipping them with the skills and mindset to lead responsible, fulfilling, and globally connected lives.
