As a headteacher, you will be responsible for the establishment and management of one of our bilingual all-day Phorms schools in Germany. The inspiring corporate environment in which we operate will provide you with the freedom you need to use your creativity and apply your own ideas in structuring your future job both as a manger and as a teacher.
Are you familiar with the German education system? Do you have at least three years’ experience as a headteacher? Are you fully bilingual (English/German)? Do you think in entrepreneurial terms? Do you bring an above-average degree of commitment to the fore?
Then you have what it takes to assume the responsibilities of a headteacher and take charge of a whole range of diverse management tasks. During the start-up phase of the school, you will act as lead manager for the development and implementation of the school concept. You will recruit teaching staff and arrange to procure the necessary capital as well as being responsible for marketing, customer acquisition and school equipment.
Once the school has opened, you will be the focal point of everyday life. You will use the Phorms concept to ensure the quality of teaching, manage your school commercially, coordinate basic principles and guidelines, continue to develop the school concept and act as an intermediary between the school and its parents. Our headteachers are passionate about all these tasks and fulfil them with a smile on their face.
Our teachers are committed to supporting the talents of our students and to implementing our educational concept on a daily basis.
They are prepared to take on responsibility and display both courage and inquisitiveness. They possess a deep understanding of individual educational needs and talents and are able to bring all their experience to bear in imparting a joy of learning. They collaborate with their colleagues on the further development of learning content and objectives. They are also committed to planning and delivering day-to-day teaching and understand the importance of evaluating learning outcomes and of engaging in extracurricular activities with the students. They are enthusiastic proponents of our educational concept and help us to disseminate our ideas more broadly.
Are you used to providing students with emotional and professional support within their routine learning environment? Do you bring an above-average level of commitment to the process? Do you enjoy working in a team? Do you have an interest in new pedagogical concepts? Are you good at implementing ideas in practice? Would you like to be involved in bringing continuous improvement to the school at which you work?
If so, you fit the bill perfectly and will only need to demonstrate the following formal requirements if you wish to join us. In Germany, you will have passed the first and second state examinations. Applicants from abroad will be in possession of an equivalent qualification (Teaching Certificate). We also ask for a number of years of experience and require our class teachers to have an excellent knowledge of spoken and written English.
Teaching assistants are the right-hand men or women of the class teachers. Teachers and teaching assistants work together to secure successful teaching and good learning outcomes for the students as well as delivering the necessary pedagogical impetus and imparting an enjoyment of everyday school life.
As a teaching assistant, your role is to act as a contact partner and support person for the children. You are sensitive towards different cultures and religious backgrounds and are able to concentrate on promoting individual curiosity and enthusiasm.
You will support the class teacher in preparing and delivering teaching content and will also assist in organising equipment and materials. You will also work together with the teacher on making sure that the ongoing development of children is properly documented. When group work takes place, you will look after children across a range of areas as directed by the class teacher. In a nutshell, you are an integral part of the school community.
Do you think that you would suit this role? Do you have a teaching or nursery teaching qualification and at least three years’ experience? Are you a team player with a willingness to develop and deploy new pedagogical concepts? Do you speak and understand English? If so, we are looking forward to receiving your application.
